Afghan Women Association for Rehabilitation and Development (AWARD) is an Afghan Non- Governmental, Non-Political and not for Profit Organization dedicated to the Social, Civic and Economic integration of Afghan Women, Youths, Person with Disabilities and other vulnerable and marginalized population in Afghanistan. The Organization established in 1995 with the primary aim to provide basic humanitarian assistance to Internally Displaced People (IDPs), those who were imposed to leave their homes in result of internal war. As of its establishment at 1995 up to 2005 its essential focus paid to provide a basic support of food, drinking water and emergency medical support to IDPs poor women led families collected from rich benevolent and humanitarian individuals and organizations. At the same time to enable the displaced and other vulnerable families for sustained self-support, AWARD established training centers of Carpet weaving, Tailoring, Jam and pickle making to respond their daily basic needs.

After its formal registration at Oct 13,2005 with the Ministry of Economy under license No. 97 , AWARD Observed desperate hopes, increased verities of problems at one hand and feeling responsibility of intervention for positive change at the life of women in community due to the social, traditional and cultural norms, AWARD extend its scope of work and include other rehabilitative and developmental activities at its scope such as Awareness Raising at the aspects of gender, disability and legal rights, advocacy, peace culture inspiration, conflict resolution trainings, literacy and numeracy, civic education, hygiene and health education, reintegration of returnees and IDPs at their communities, Shelter for the aim of  better help the depressed Afghan community from their legal, social and economic prospect.

Afghan Women Association for Rehabilitation & Development (AWARD) has proven its capabilities and experience of an effective implementation of rehabilitation and development programs across the country and is proud of its 26 years of effective and responsive service provision to its war-torn country. AWARD Involved in sustainable development initiatives and implementation of tens of productive projects across Afghanistan This local grass-root not for profit organization has equipped with very committed, hardworking, innovative team of professional where youth and women are playing key role in decision making process. This professional group of young women and men with their expertise acquired from working with national and international communities have come together to work for the betterment of vulnerable life translating a sense of humanity ,responsibility , accountability and transparency in their daily work in the field of human rights, rule of law, gender equality and civic education, peace building, democratization, elimination of violence against women and child labor and using their potential for building a bright future instead, came to their important priorities.
